NEW RCA TELEPHONES WITH VoIP SERVICE
LOWER COSTS WHILE PROVIDING ADDITIONAL FEATURES

Two New Apps Provide Enhanced Capability to RCA IP Desk Phone

Las Vegas, NV, January 8, 2013 – To meet the needs of small businesses looking to streamline their telecommunications systems and manage their costs, Telefield, the licensee for RCA business telephones, is introducing three new digital IP phones bundled with a powerful and low-cost VoIP service powered by Broadview Networks. The phones will be showcased at the 2013 International CES in RCA booth 8531 in the Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center, January 8 – 11. In addition, new apps for the RCA IP desktop phone with Android will also be demonstrated. The RCA brand is owned by Technicolor and is licensed to On Corporation for manufacturing and distribution.

This new offering will provide small businesses with many features formerly reserved for large, proprietary PBX systems, while saving them as much as 50% off of their traditional phone service. By moving all the features of the phone system to the RCA hosted service, companies can easily set up remote locations and even offer direct-extension dialing to an employee’s home office. The RCA IP phone service is powered by Broadview Networks, experienced and proven in delivering award-winning cloud-based phone services. Activating the RCA Broadband phone service is easy – simply plug in the phone to the Internet and visit rca4business.com to sign up for the service.

“Our bundle of IP phones and broadband phone service will afford small businesses a far more powerful way to communicate with their customers and co-workers while bringing real cost savings to the bottom line,” said Dwight Sakuma, President of Telefield North America. “Teaming up with Broadview Networks, a leading IP service provider, allows us to differentiate the RCA telephone, while making the whole process of getting up and running simple and easy. This provides our retail partners with a unique selling proposition.”

Three new phones—the IP110S (two-line), IP120S (three-line) and IP160S (expandable cordless)—will be offered for sale together with the phone service. Included in the monthly service will be numerous features including a digital receptionist, customizable voicemail, voicemail delivery over e-mail, music on hold, call transfer and caller ID with name.

“With over eight years of experience operating cloud-based phone systems, RCA IP Phone Service customers get the benefit of Broadview’s expertise in designing and operating enterprise-grade, but easy-to-use, phone systems and service,” said Michael K. Robinson, President and Chief Executive Officer of Broadview Networks.

Apps Add Enhanced Capabilities

A key benefit of IP phones is the advanced functionality that can be created through the phone’s broadband connection. Previewed at the 2012 CES, the RCA IP150 6-line IP desk phone extends this benefit by running Google’s Android OS. At CES this year, two new apps are being showcased that offer features specifically targeted to the needs of small businesses.

A security monitoring and access control app will allow the user to monitor up to four IP cameras on the IP150 deskphone with its integrated seven-inch touch-screen display. If the customer has a doorbell camera with an integrated IP-controlled door strike, the user can view the camera feed and decide whether to open the door—all from within the IP150 Security App.

The second app will help companies administer conference calls without using a dedicated controller. A touch-screen-based interface will allow the call administrator to mute and un-mute lines, controlling when participants can speak. If the users also have IP150s, they can “raise their hand,” or alert the administrator to common complaints, such as an inability to hear or other issues.

Voicemail, too, can be managed and controlled on-the-go from smartphones. The application allows users to see a list of their voicemails, including when and from whom the voicemail was received. Users can listen to the voicemail in the order they wish and forward, reply or delete the voicemail right from the application.

“The expanded capability of the IP150 makes this an even more robust phone that is perfect for any small business that needs advanced functionality,” explained Sakuma. “We will continue to work with app developers to offer a wide range of services to make this phone even more compelling.”
